Full Moon in Gemini - Itā€™s Time to Get Complete

Tonight is the last full moon of 2019, and numerologically itā€™s a powerful new moon taking place on 12/12 at exactly 12:12am. In Chaldean numerology, 12 is considered a mystical number. There are 12 astrological signs, and the Earth makes one orbit of the Sun through these 12 signs in the same amount of time that the Moon takes to orbit the Earth 12 times. The planet Jupiter is larger than all the other planets in our solar system combined, and Jupiter takes about 12 years to complete one orbit of the Sun. Jesus chose 12 apostles, each of whom are said to embody the archetype of each of the sun signs with the Master being the 13th one, and the one who has learned to master the signs rising above their karmic influence.

So needless to say, the full Moon tonight carries with it a certain energetic vibration that is quite powerful. From an astrological point of view, this full Moon in Gemini has quite an urgent quality of completion to it. Venus, Saturn and Pluto are all aligned and conjunct in the sign of Capricorn, which is a rare alignment, and one we need to look at closely to understand the effects of the planets on our collective and individual consciousness. Venus is the planet of love, femininity, sensuality and money. Saturn is the planet of restriction, contraction and karma. Pluto is the planet of transformation, death, sex and the underworld. When these three planets line up together, they create quite an intense influence on our collective psyche. As a collective, and also on an individual level depending on where these planets fall in our chart, we are going to be asked to look at these areas of our life. Love, sex, finances, transformation and blocks. These are the key words that come to mind in term of where we should be looking to consider what needs to shift.

The mind is a great servant, but a terrible master.

New Moon in Sagittarius - Higher Mind Expansion

After an intense few weeks of a very edgy Mercury retrograde, now we are in the post shadow period, still integrating all the learning the retrograde brought us. Tonightā€™s new moon in Sagittarius is a welcome shift from the watery Scorpio intensity to the fiery expansiveness of Sagittarius. In order to understand the planetary influence under this new moon, we first need to understand the domains of Mercury, Moon and Sagittarius. Mercury rules the mind, and our intellect (amongst other things), while the ruler of Jupiter, Sagittarius is the ruler of the higher mind. This is the aspect of our mind that is closer to our Soul, our higher consciousness.

This is a time of Upheaval Reorganization. But the upheaval has the potential to throw is back into old patterns but if we can hold steady then then upheaval reorganizes to a higher order.

Full Moon in Taurus - Claim Your Power Back

It’s been quite an intense couple of weeks since the new moon which ushered in the Mercury retrograde. The energy of this retrograde has been as promised, transformative and challenging (two sides of the same coin). The full moon in Taurus today is not as much a respite from these challenges as it is a glimpse into the potential of what could happen when we allow ourselves to unravel into those very contractions within our being that are making us ‘feel all the feelings’..all those feelings that we would rather not experience.

New Moon in Scorpio & Mercury Retrograde ~ Kālī Shakti and Diwali

What can I say about this new moon in the first decan of Scorpio? What can one say about the kind of energy that unrelenting and ruthless in its desire for truth?

I will describe the energy surrounding this new moon with a story.
Recently, during my travels to the amazing sacred valley in Peru, I started feeling and invoking the goddess KālÄ« in my Yoga practice. I didn’t go looking for her…she found me. Through my asana practice and mantras, she hunted me down and looked me straight in the eye. The archetype of the divine mother Shakti in the form of Kali is relentless. She is the goddess of death and destruction. Her most well known origin story is that when Durga was in a battle with these demons, she got so angry that through her anger KālÄ« was manifested into the world out of her third eye.

New Moon in Libra ~ Love and Peacemaking

The new Moon in Libra rising early morning on Saturday, September 28th, brings with it some much needed balance and equanimity (or at least the desire for it) into our collective consciousness. I don’t know about you all, but the past full moon in Pisces a couple of weeks ago left me feeling dreamy and ungrounded; and while the Neptunian vibes are useful for creativity and meditation, it has taken quite some effort to be productive and get practical things done.

Fall Equinox 2019 ~ The Obstacle is the Way

Equinoxes are the two times during the year when the day and night are equal in length. After the fall equinox, the days get shorter and the nights longer as we go into winter. The shift is from the bustling activity of the summer to the slower more introspective time of preparing for the cold winter.

Harvest Moon in Pisces ~ Uncomfortable Emotional Waters

Life began in water. We are made of 70% water, and astrologically water is the strongest element due to it’s nature of non-resistance. This full moon in Pisces is a very watery full moon indeed. Conjunct Neptune (which is still in retrograde) this moon carries a strong Neptunian flavor, and Neptune rules the oceans and the churning waves of our emotions. So this harvest moon will carry us to the world hidden from our view, a world we can only navigate through feeling.
