Happy New Year! Boy was 2022 a long year…so much happened in that year, a lot of growth and challenges. Astrologically speaking, 2023 is a very different year. And tonight we have the first full Moon of 2023!

In the bigger picture of 2023, astrologically the intensity we experienced in the last three years is finally dissolving as this year brings much more harmony between the planetary bodies.

The lunar eclipse on Friday, Nov 19th, is a partial (but almost covering the moon) lunar eclipse which is going to be visible from North and South America as well as Australia and parts of Europe.

Astrologically, this lunar eclipse will begin a new cycle which will continue for months to come, culminating in May 2022. The eclipse falls on the axis of Scorpio-Taurus, with the Sun being in intense Scorpio and the Moon being in earthy Taurus.

The final days of 2020 are upon us, and with it we have the final full moon of 2020, in the sign of Cancer on the night of Dec 29th. We are still under the effects of the solar eclipse on Dec 14th and the Great Conjunction on Dec 21st which stirred up a lot.

The Moon is an emotional planetary archetype. It’s the deeper aspect of us, the feminine, more subconscious side of us that we are not always aware of. It doesn’t particularly feel at home in the sign of Aquarius, which is a masculine, eccentric and mental air sign. There is a natural feeling of agitation when the moon is in Aquarius, and with tonight’s full moon, it’s even more high strung because this full moon squares, i.e. makes a tense aspect to the planet Uranus (which actually rules Aquarius). Uranus is the archetype of the wild card in astrology. The ruler of innovation, technology and the iconoclastic mindset. This full moon has quite a strong Uranian flavor to it, which means expect the unexpected.

We are almost at the mid-point of 2020, and what a karmic year this has been! Along with May flowers, this month brings several pivotal astrological planetary alignments. To begin with, tomorrow morning we have the full moon in Scorpio (exact at 6:45am). This full moon is a welcome change to the other moon cycles we have had so far, because even though it’s in intense Scorpio, it sings a sweet melody with the aspects it makes to other planetary bodies during this time. This moon is a supermoon, meaning that it’s very close to the earth and will exert its energetic influences strongly.

Tonight’s Full Moon is the strongest super moon of the year, meaning that it is closer in proximity to the earth that it will get in 2020. This moon comes in the midst of a big upheaval we are going through in our collective consciousness, as evidenced by the world’s events. In order to understand the energetic influence of this particular full moon, we need to look at the aspects that the planets are making right now. The strongest aspect that this full moon makes is to the conjunction between Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn that has been in the heavens since the new moon on March 24th.

Tonight is the last full moon of 2019, and numerologically it’s a powerful new moon taking place on 12/12 at exactly 12:12am. In Chaldean numerology, 12 is considered a mystical number. There are 12 astrological signs, and the Earth makes one orbit of the Sun through these 12 signs in the same amount of time that the Moon takes to orbit the Earth 12 times. The planet Jupiter is larger than all the other planets in our solar system combined, and Jupiter takes about 12 years to complete one orbit of the Sun. Jesus chose 12 apostles, each of whom are said to embody the archetype of each of the sun signs with the Master being the 13th one, and the one who has learned to master the signs rising above their karmic influence.

So needless to say, the full Moon tonight carries with it a certain energetic vibration that is quite powerful. From an astrological point of view, this full Moon in Gemini has quite an urgent quality of completion to it. Venus, Saturn and Pluto are all aligned and conjunct in the sign of Capricorn, which is a rare alignment, and one we need to look at closely to understand the effects of the planets on our collective and individual consciousness. Venus is the planet of love, femininity, sensuality and money. Saturn is the planet of restriction, contraction and karma. Pluto is the planet of transformation, death, sex and the underworld. When these three planets line up together, they create quite an intense influence on our collective psyche. As a collective, and also on an individual level depending on where these planets fall in our chart, we are going to be asked to look at these areas of our life. Love, sex, finances, transformation and blocks. These are the key words that come to mind in term of where we should be looking to consider what needs to shift.
